Electronic Space Music Festival and Concert | ||
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: DIFFERENT SKIES: ELECTRONIC SPACE MUSIC FESTIVAL October 20, 2007 at ARCOSANTI On Saturday, October 20, 2007, the electronic music collaborative Different Skies will perform at Arcosanti for the fifth consecutive year. Different Skies is an international gathering of experimental musicians who come together for a week of intensive composing and rehearsals, culminating in a concert at the Colly Soleri amphitheatre at Arcosanti. Technology meets imagination to create an evening of amazing entertainment—the music of Different Skies is exciting, accessible, imaginative, and fun for listeners of all ages and musical interests, from classical and jazz to modern ambient and meditation/healing music. During the week prior to the concert, the musicians of Different Skies will compose and rehearse the show's music, creating the entire performance in six days. While at Arcosanti, the musicians will be available to conduct workshops for music students from local schools and colleges, and teach master classes on electronic music technique and technology. This year's roster combines over twenty musicians and visual artists to create a stunning tapestry of improvised and composed space music, ambient, experimental, and electronic, mixed with interactive video synthesis.
